Today we launch “Quoth the Raven: the University of Maryland Law School Faculty Blog.” On this blog we intend to share with each other and readers beyond our internal community thoughts about current events and other concerns – including reactions to judicial and other decisions that affect law teaching and scholarship, ideas about legal education, commentary on political affairs and views about social justice. We hope this blog will engage us in lively discussion – amongst ourselves and with our readers -- about matters that provide meaning to the work of this law school and shape our broader community. We invite your responses to promote thoughtful insights that will further enrich our conversations.
I owe a special debt of gratitude to Mark Graber, our newly appointed Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Development. This blog is his brainchild and just one of a number of faculty development initiatives that he has been busily designing to highlight the diverse talents of our faculty.
We look forward to lively discussions and provocative ideas. We hope you visit often ----
Phoebe Haddon
Dean
