There exists a fallacy that when you begin law school, you waive the right to the exclusive
enjoyment of leisure time activities. As an evening student putting in a full work week and
dreaming of adverse possession and Marbury’s right to an executive commission, I firmly
believe that squeezing a few hours of enjoyment into your week is enough to keep you
from finding your way into the padded rooms of the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Fallacy aside, below is a list of local events that can help ease the pain and suffering that some associate with the process that is law school...
Where – Max’s Tap House, Fells Point
When – Monday - All day, all night
Special – "The Monday Sucks" Happy Hour
$1.00 off select drafts (everything but the really high-octane stuff and the Belgians)
With over 100 beers on tap there's bound to be something to please even the pickiest of draught connoisseurs.
When – Monday thru Saturday, 3 – 7 p.m.
Special – 'Happy Hour' menu of great discounted drinks, appetizers, sushi and entrees.
Ra’s Happy Hour specials appeal to any consumer - whether you view raw eel as a delicacy or a sure fire way to view your breakfast in reverse. The combination of cheap appetizers, sushi, and drink specials are excellent. The challenge: limiting yourself to one round of sushi. Don’t believe me… see for yourself!
When – Sunday, September 23, 2012
Special – Check out one of the last live concert events of the season. The Avett Brothers will be taking the stage this Sunday. Don’t have money to spend on a concert? You are in luck. Assuming you are there for the music and not an extravagant light show, the surrounding piers offer a nice place to take a blanket, picnic basket, and most importantly, a cooler, to sit and enjoy the sounds of folk music whilst enjoying a beautiful view of the harber - all free of charge! Bring a kozy, a lawn chair and enjoy!
Well, those are my picks for this round. Enjoy and remember - an empty glass is a sad glass… fill it up!
Cheers,
