Justice Zak Yacoob will present a lecture, "South Africa: The Road to Democracy," on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 5:00pm in the Ceremonal Moot Court Room.
Justice Yacoob will join UM Carey Law this Fall as a Distinguished Visting Professor, lending his expertise and insight by teaching a 2-week course at the law school on South African Jurisprudence.
UM Carey Law has a unique and long-standing relationship with South Africa that has evolved for over 25 years. In addition to exchange programs and externship opportunities, UM Carey Law often hosts distinguished visitors from South Africa as speakers and professors. Last Fall, the school hosted Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke.
Justice Yacoob was appointed to the Constitutional Court in 1998 by Nelson Mandela.
