The CamScanner
app turns your tablet or smartphone into a portable document scanner.
The app uses the camera on your smartphone or tablet to create scans of
printed material which you can then crop, straighten, and optimize for
readability. You can even apply Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to a scanned document,
making it full-text searchable. Uploaded images/files can
then be shared between mobile devices and computers.
CamScanner is available for iPhone, Android phone, iPad, and Android tablet (the tablet versions have additional features that take advantage of the larger screens on these devices). If you use your .edu e-mail address to create an account, it will unlock features that otherwise come at a premium such as the ability to use the program without advertisements or watermarks.
